With his new movie "Smashed" opening in theaters today (October 12), Aaron Paul garnered himself a little added exposure by covering the October 2012 issue of Manhattan magazine.
The 33-year-old actor cleaned up in an Ermenegido Zegna wool cashmere suit for the Brian Bowen Smith shot spread while talking about topics such as his favorite New York City memory to co-founding a non-profit organization with his fiance Lauren Parsekian.
A few highlights from Mr. Paul's interview are as follows. For more, be sure to pay a visit to Manhattan!
On acting:
"I truly try to live through that person's skin. I draw on no personal experiences. I imagine living in the scene and transporting myself there, all as taught by [my high school drama teacher] Mrs. Link."
On his favorite memory in New York City:
"Walking from Soho to Upper East in a blizzard while listening to Sigur Ros. It reminded me that magical places do exist."
On getting emotional and financial support from his middle class family::
"I'd always promised I'd do it on my own. It was the hardest phone call I had to make, and they paid my rent for three months. It was huge."
On his non-profit organization with his fiance, Lauren Parsekian::
"Kind Campaign works to stop girl-on-girl bullying: after we met, after I checked it out, I called [Lauren] instantly. I'd been planning to propose earlier, but I wanted to wait for Paris. It's been a storybook since I met her."
