Denise Richards has joined ABC Family pilot Socio.
Additionally, Terriers' Kimberly Quinn has also been cast in the project from executive producer Gavin Polone.
STORY: 'Victorious' Star Joins ABC Family Drama Pilot 'Socio'
The hourlong drama follows Danny Ryder (Avan Jogia), who returns home after serving five years for murdering his aunt when he was 11. Danny returns to a hostile reception and media firestorm. Ostracized by his peers, Danny reconnects with his best friends Jo (Maddie Hasson) and Lacey (Kylie Bunbury). When another student is murdered, Danny becomes a suspect.
Richards will play Danny's mother, Karen, who once ruled the town's social scene but now struggles to put on a brave face with her son's return.

Quinn will portray Jo's mother, Tess, who tries to give Danny the benefit of the doubt and clashes with her husband over his harsh attitude toward him.
Greek's Adam Milch wrote the pilot and will co-executive produce.
The pilot is currently in pre-production.
Socio is one of several pilots that ABC Family has ordered, including several comedies, The Fosters from Jennifer Lopez and an adaptation of the Mexican format Terminales.
ICM Partners-repped Richards' recent TV credits include FX's Anger Management with ex-husband Charlie Sheen, Lifetime telepic Blue Lagoon: The Awakening and Blue Mountain State. Quinn, repped by Don Buchwald and Associates/Fortitude, starred as Gretchen on FX's Terriers, and has appeared in Up All Night.
